Solon one of the Seven sages of Greece a celebrated lawmaker, Poet and Statesman who travelled the world in search of a blueprint for the perfect state.
Whilst he was in Egypt studying beside the sacred priests of the deity Neith at Sais he was informed of the ancient history of Athens and an ancient lost superpower and island empire called Atlantis.
Solon was shocked by the history the priests relayed from their ancient Library archives within the temple grounds of the deity Neith but he listened mesmerized by the details of the island empire of Atlantis.
He continued his travels but recorded the details of Atlantis and when he returned to Athens he incorporated in his own works the accounts of the ancient island empire of Atlantis.
An old friend of Solon’s retained the works a man called Dropides who was an ancestor of Plato and handed the works down in time to Plato.
Atlantis through the words, works and influence of Plato was eventually delivered to the wider world and the once forgotten ancient island empire of Atlantis was reanimated.
Ioday it still inspires and intrigues people around the world in equal mesure.
K.T. Frost was among the first scholars to associate the island empire of Atlantis with the Minoan world centred on Crete.
His work titled The Lost Continent was published in the London Times on Feb 19th, 1909.. An inspired article that drew on the excavations on Crete by Archaeologists on many ancient sites by figures such as Sir Arthur Evans discoveries on the Knossos site.
